Grievance Policy

POLICY: All grievances regarding programs, personnel or practices of any ULS continuing education program should be brought to the attention of the ULS staff, who will attempt to satisfy the complainant. In addition, measures will be taken to correct deficiencies.

PROCEDURES IN RESOLVING GRIEVANCES: The purpose of these grievance procedures is to provide a fair and equitable procedure for review of grievances related to the quality of continuing education programs, the amount of credit awarded for a program, fees and tuition, refunds of fees and tuition, and any other issues directly related to continuing education programming.

Grievance Step #1 Any participant in continuing education programs sponsored by ULS may discuss any grievances with any employee of ULS, including but not limited to Donald Wilk, Carole Wilk and Sheryl-Wilk-Sparrow. In order to facilitate handling of the grievance, ULS will request it in writing. Grievances shall be filed in a timely manner, within 30 days after receipt of a home study program or within 15 days after receipt of a certificate of attendance at a live program. After receipt and consideration of grievances, ULS shall act with due diligence to resolve the problem to the satisfaction of the participant. If ULS does not resolve the grievance to the participant’s satisfaction, that participant may ask ULS to present the grievance to a Committee consisting of ACPE-approved providers who currently cosponsor programs with ULS (Grievance Step 2).

Grievance Step# 2 The participant’s written grievance is sent by ULS to ACPE-approved providers who currently cosponsor programs with ULS, and ask that each review the complaint, review the facts as presented and discuss the grievance with the complainant (if deemed necessary). ULS will also ask its grievance committee (to be formed shortly and consisting of 2-3 pharmacists from different practice settings) to do the same. The cosponsors and committee members shall independently issue a ruling on the grievance, and send their results to ULS for action. If more than one solution is proposed, then ULS will utilize the one most acceptable to the complainant.
